Twin Falls Territorial Park · Short walk

Louise Falls

Louise Falls is the second named waterfall in the Twin Falls park landscape, associated with the campground along the Hay River. The gorge, falls and surrounding forest normally make this a multi-stop area.

Access notice

Connecting riverside trail closed due to erosion; verify viewpoint access.

Planning your visit

The current closure covers the riverside trail connecting Alexandra Falls, Louise Falls Campground and Escarpment Creek. Check separately whether the Louise viewing area is accessible; a campground listing is not confirmation that every trail is open. NWT Parks notes that the campground is not wheelchair accessible.

Our take

Plan from the current advisory rather than older descriptions of walking between the two falls. Treat each access point separately until the erosion closure is lifted.
